A tribute to two special women
The first place individual trophy for our annual walk will now be called the "Harriet Goldstein Award" in memory of our beloved member who passed away on July 16th, 2006. For six consecutive years(2000-2005), Harriet won the first place trophy and collected over $5600 for HUGS.
Also the HUGS Community Service Scholarship will be named after Marianne Musto, another beloved member who passed away on August 16th,2006. Marianne epitomized volunteerism. She was a Red Cross volunteer for many years, traveling all over the country to help with disasters, she even became a social worker later in life due to her desire to help others. Every year she wrote out thank you's to all who donated to our walk and she served on our executive board as well.
Both of these women were truly remarkable people and we are grateful not only to have known them but for what they did for our organization. We hope that by honoring them in this way, it will preserve their memory for all of us for years to come.
